Crazy Keever

Last week Keever jammed his finger while catching a football. It wasn't getting better after a few days. He went to our Pediatrician, got an X-ray...broken😔. 

The type of break concerned her and she wasn't positive how to treat it and wanted him to see a Pediatric Orthopaedic Doctor.  The break separated the tendon and it's on a "growth plate" This morning we visited the doctor and good news! No surgery, just a "semi-permanent splint".

Analogies

So, I was working with Montgomery today on some "review".  We were talking about what an analogy is.  Q: Paris is to France as London is to ?...she gives me a blank stare...ok ok, geography lesson....we pull up Google earth and resolve that. (Should she know that basic geography, yes of course, but mom I can always Google it...grrrrr we'll work on that.) Q: ? is to table as blanket is to bed...she said "leg"? I said uuuhhh, no, a blanket covers a bed or goes on it. She says, plate? I said ok, that's true, I would probably say table cloth. She gives me a confused look. Why would she know that...we don't use table cloths. Next question...Engine is to car as hard drive is to...she says, without hesitation, computer. Oooo she gets analogies, I just have to speak her language, hello technology age.

Chicken Lady

A couple of the chickens were out...she can catch them so easily. So again, she was out putting chickens back.

She's "scolding them" ;)hahaha!

But deep down she's just a chicken lover...well, animal lover!

A Reed Boat

We are studying Ancient Egypt. This week one of the things we read about was Early Boats made out of papyrus reeds.

Instead of using thin reeds we just used what we had. We rolled some pieces of corn husks from the back yard.

Well...it doesn't float ;)...but it was fun and looks cool.

Gabriella was busy typing, little did I know she was actually typing something.  So cute I had to take a picture of the screen.

Waking up to streamers and balloons :))

(Montgomery wanted to make a special day for her sister, she got up early and went to the store with me and helped set everything up)

Birthday breakfast! Pancakes and sausage, yummy

We then had spaghetti for her lunch meal...a package arrived from PA! Oh happy day;)

Dinner...she wanted hot dogs and French fries. It was an a la carte meal since no one else wanted hotdogs :)

Then cake...singing...and gifts!

It was warm...so the frosting melted...but the important part (frozen characters) stayed!

She got a Yo-Yo!!! Bible, Elsa and Anna socks:) a couple pictures of Elsa and Anna (amazing what google, a printer, and a laminator can provide), movie, a purple bag...her favorite gift, a purple "laptop"

I'll have her typing 60wpm in no time ;)

I think she had a fun day...our little girl is getting SO BIG!
