Todd wanted to have a fire last night, so we decided to just roast hot dogs and call it dinner! It was a nice night and fun to be outside enjoying the cool weather. The kids always love to eat outside and especially think it's cool to have a fire.

Swimming Lessons
Mckeever and Montgomery started their fall session 2 lessons today. Here is a small snap shot of what they did with their teacher Nikki. Montgomery goes first at 1:00 and then Mckeever has his lessons at 1:30. He is in a class that is a little slow for him, with two girls...yuk! Mrs. Barb, who owns the school, really loves our kids (and they love her) and she wants them to get lessons. She just fits us in where there is workable space. She is such a loving and giving woman of God. We are thankful for her. The kids love to take swim lessons and she doesn't want them to miss out. Gabriella and I will start a mom (or dad) and tot class Thursdays at 10.

A SURPRISE Package!!!
Thanks Aunt Megan!!! Oh the kids were excited! Well Todd and I were also. We loved the pictures! We all sat at the computer and went through them all, reminiscing about our trip, and enjoying the pictures that Bri took. Of course the first thing was listening to the WHOLE KJ52 Television CD. While we ate lunch...looked at pictures...played a game of UNO. SIGH! I told Mckeever that was enough KJ in one day for me. I'll put it on iTunes tonight and get it on his iPod. What a HIT! Montgomery did think that the shirts were great, she hugged them. BUT...she was maybe most excited about the rock and she wondered if you found it or she left one behind. Gabriella just chewed on her bowl...she's got an oral fixation these days. I think the 2yr molars are causing some conflict :)
Here is what we have done with all the rocks. It was starting to make me a little crazy...rocks out all the time. So, one night a couple weeks ago we were watching a show about gardens...so I said we would make a rock garden! Montgomery thought that was great. We just needed a little play sand and used some of the boxes that we brought the rocks home in. And here you go; ta-da a rock garden. It is nicely placed on the mantle as to NOT have easy access. If they get them down without asking or climb up there...the rocks get tossed. Oh, I know, mean mom.
Here they are...
So, one morning this last week Gabriella got a hold of a rag (dirty of course, sitting on the floor) and she proceeds to scrub the kitchen floor. I said is it dirty, and she says UH-HUH! Which is funny cause she always says NO! So what can I say my floor is dirty and needs a good cleaning! :0 Thanks Gabriella!

Entertain Us!
If you look close you can see that her second tooth on the bottom right side has a pretty good chip out of it. A fall at our friends house last week. She cried pretty hard but recovered well!

Growing Up!
A couple days ago Montgomery came up to tell me that Gabriella was trying to climb out of bed. It was late and I wasn't going to change the bed that night. Yesterday after her nap she was doing the same thing. We decided her bed needed to be changed into the toddler rail. She wasn't too sure about it, but warmed up to it. I took all the kitchen toys out of the room to hopefully prevent playing. She did pretty well last night, her first night in her BIG GIRL bed. Her nap today went pretty well also. We'll see how she adjusts as time goes on. She is timid enough right now to not get out and play.
Mckeever has been sick the last day. He is feeling much better and he ate dinner, so that is a good sign. We are going to take things slow for a couple days and make sure he gets completely better. I am hoping...and praying that the rest of us will stay healthy. We have had a sick house for far too long.
Todd has been working a lot. He is at work tonight and just called to say they asked him to stay a few hours longer. He did have yesterday off which was really nice, minus Keever getting so sick.
We changed the office into the "school room". It is such a breath of fresh air to have a space for the kids and all of the school supplies. We love you all...and miss you! Love and Hugs!

Pumpkin Carving
Today was the day to carve the pumpkins. Dad was the pro so I took the opportunity to make one of my favorite fall sweets, pumpkin spice muffins. I decided that we would try to season and bake pumpkin seeds this year...I figured it's worth a try. They are drying out on a cookie sheet tonight and we will see what we get tomorrow. I'm sure we'll let you know the end result.
I can get it all by myself |
